Dear Minnesota Croatian Friends,
I just returned from Philadelphia where I attended the National Federation of Croatian American’s Annual Conference. It is always a good time to catch up with the other board members and get re-energized for the upcoming year on Croatian topics. Representing the Minnesota delegation included Marko Kirn, Carolyn Agin Bruno and myself.
I’m excited to announce that our Facebook followers are growing and we now have surpassed 750 followers. Just a year ago, we only had 500 followers. Let’s get to 1,000! A big thanks to Jasmine Hoedemann who is also helping to post newsworthy information.
In July, Croatia’s Defense Minister Mario Banozic was in Minnesota to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Minnesota National Guard Partnership with the Republic of Croatia. The delegation had an opportunity to meet with Governor Walz. Minister Banozic is pictured with Adjutant General Shawn Manke, Admiral Robert Hranj, Defense Policy Director Dunja Bujan, General Tomislav Galic and Ambassador Pjer Simunovic. A small group from the Croatian Community was also invited to participate in this celebration. The State Partnership Program between the Minnesota National Guard and Croatia has strengthened national security, as well as economic and cultural ties between Minnesota and Croatia since its inception in 1996.
And finally, we are tentatively planning to hold our Annual Christmas Party this year. The date is currently reserved for Saturday December 4th, 2021 and we may do it on a smaller scale this year depending on the current Covid situation or may possibly postpone until the Spring for an outdoor event. Please let us know if you will attend the party this year by responding to the survey below. We will need to get enough positive responses in order to start planning the event. If you would like to help with the planning and logistics of the Christmas party, please email me and I will set up a zoom call for sometime in October. My email is listed below.
Pozdrav!
